There are a wide range of activities, attractions and places to visit in Noosa and on the Sunshine Coast.

Day trips - self drive
We have designed 3 scenic day trips with maps and directions available free at reception.

Noosa River walks & eateries
- Walk along beside the river and enjoy the fresh air and the birdlife.
- Take a break at one of the many eateries along Gympie Terrace
- Visit the Noosa Yacht and Rowing Club and admire the river views and sunsets.
- Have a swim in the river or hire a bike and explore the area at a leisurely pace.
Ferry rides on the river
- The Noosa Ferry runs daily from Tewantin to Noosa stopping at pickup points in Noosaville and Noosa Sound. Buy an All - Day Pass and explore the area getting on and off as many times as you like.
- Consider a Noosa Ferry Sunset Cruise, glide amongst the yachts of Woods Bay, past the waterfront homes of Noosa Sound before taking in the Sunset at the river entrance. Take along your favourite drinks and nibbles and relax.
Everglades and beyond
- The Noosa Rivers headwaters are situated near Rainbow Beach. The river passes through Lakes Cootharaba and Cooroibah, past Tewantin and Noosaville on its way to the ocean.
- The Everglades are a very still area of the river above the lakes that provide opportunities for good reflective photography. Take a Noosa Everglades Discovery cruise to the river of mirrors and experience the wilderness of one of Australia’s most pristine regions.
- Consider an optional return trip by 4WD through the rainforest to Double Island Point Lighthouse and back along the beach stopping at the world famous Coloured Sands.
Hastings Street
- Hastings Street has a wide range of speciality shops, not all are expensive and a bargain may be found. There are many strategically placed 'Husband Seats' for foot (not to mention Credit Card) weary guys.
- The Noosa Heads Surf Club welcomes visitors and has an ocean view on to Main Beach that is arguably the best view in the world.
- Drive or walk along Hastings Street to Noosa Woods and the river mouth where you will find Bush Turkeys in abundance and on a clear day, experience the Kite Surfers and the spectacular shifting sands.
Swimming at Main Beach, Sunshine and Sunrise
- Noosa Main Beach is one of the safest beaches on the Sunshine Coast.
- Sunshine and Sunrise Beaches 10 minutes south of Noosa are great expanses of white sand and surf.
- Be sure to swim safely between the patrolled flags.
Walks abound for the nature lover
- Noosa National Park is located at the opposite end of Hastings Street. Walk the tracks around the rocky headland to Alexandria Bay and further on to Sunshine Beach.
- There are fine views of the ocean, Noosa North Shore and on a clear day Double Island Point. You may see the local wildlife including Koalas, Goannas and Echidnas. Between June and November Humpback Whales can be glimpsed as they cruise past on their way to and from their northern breeding grounds.
- Walk or drive to the Lookout on Noosa Hill for views of Noosa, the Hinterland and Noosa North Shore.
- Drive to Mt Tinbeerwah Lookout where a short walk gives views of Lake Weyba, Noosa and the river, Lakes Cooroibah and Cootharaba and the Great Sandy National Park.
Bowls anyone?
- Both Noosa Bowling Clubs "Noosa Heads" and "Tewantin Noosa" welcome players for a rollup. They also provide bar facilities and meals. Look out for cash prize competitions on the Sunshine Coast during winter months.
Golf enthusiasts
- Golf Courses in and around Noosa provide a selection of difficulty to suit any type of golfer’s ability. Green Fees range from $20.00 to over $100.00. Most courses hire golfing equipment and motor carts.
- Resort Courses: Noosa Springs, Twin Waters, Hyatt Regency Coolum.
- Other Courses: Tewantin/Noosa, Kabi, Noosa Par 3.
To market to market
- The well known Eumundi Markets open every Wednesday and Saturday (7.30am to 1.30 pm) and now Sunday morning providing a mix of local art and craft, manufactured items, fresh fruit and vegetables and entertainment.
- On Sunday mornings there is a Farmers Market in Noosa at the AFL grounds (6.30am to 12.00pm) and an Art and Craft Market at the Tewantin Marina (8.00am until 2.00pm)
Australia Zoo
- For a full day of wildlife action and adventure, where you can check out all the amazing wildlife, visit Australia Zoo. It is set on over 70 acres of natural Australian bush land. Where you can get 'close and personal' to Kangaroos, Koalas and Wombats. Daily shows occur at The Crocoseum and you can participate in wildlife shows. The Zoo is located at Beerwah which is 50 minutes drive from Noosa Keys. A courtesy Coach runs daily picking up guests from outside the resort on Noosa Parade.
Fraser Island
- Fraser Island is the world’s largest sand island. It is composed almost entirely of vegetation covered sand with over 40 freshwater lakes and dense rainforest. It is a very special and interesting place to visit. From Noosa you will travel along the beach passing the Coloured Sands to Rainbow Beach and onto Inskip Point to cross on the Fraser Island Ferry. Travelling along the beach you may see a Dingo before heading inland on rugged sand roads, passing through barren heath land, rainforest and towering hardwood forests to the beautiful Lake McKenzie for a swim and lunch and on to Central Station for a superb rainforest walk.
Whale Watching
- In Season Whale Watching trips depart from Mooloolaba and Hervey Bay.
Horse and camel riding
- For something a little bit different consider a horse or camel ride. Horse riding/treks are available with well trained mounts to suit a rider’s individual ability. Spend 2 hours riding across Lake Weyba or experiencing the Noosa Hinterland or the sea, sand and bushland of the North Shore. Take a camel ride on the North Shore.
For the Thrill Seekers
- Noosa Ocean Rider and Noosa Thriller provide an extreme ocean adventure. Travel down the river to the ocean mouth where the driver opens up the throttle and the horsepower behind you propels the boat airborne over the waves. Admire the beautiful coastline of the National Park as you travel around to Sunshine Beach. You may see Dolphins and in season Humpback Whales.
- Hire a late model Jet Ski and experience either the River Circuit, a tour out to the ocean or a more leisurely guided trip up the Noosa River.
- Consider a Kayak trip on the rivers and byways of Noosa. A trip of a little as an hour can provide a completely different perspective of river life and is not too taxing.
For the young and young at heart
- The Ginger Factory, located at Yandina 30 minutes drive from Noosa Keys, is the home of the world’s finest ginger, Buderim Ginger. The Ginger Shop features the world’s largest selection of ginger products. Take a ride on the authentic cane train or do an escorted factory tour to see how ginger is produced ending with a tea or coffee and a bite to eat in the pleasant courtyard café.
- Garden lovers should visit the Noosa Botanic Gardens at Lake MacDonald near Cooroy. The Lake is a town water storage supply for the Noosa area and is bordered by Noosa Botanical Gardens brimming with native species and providing the perfect spot for a picnic.
- Explore the Maroochy Bushland Gardens at Taniwha. There are gullies filled with ferns and palms, picnic areas, bush walks and a special area where art and sculpture is combined with the natural beauty of the surroundings.
- The Valley Rattler steam train travels 80 km from Gympie through the scenic Mary Valley to Imbil on Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Journey back in time on this spectacular rail adventure.
Underwater world
- Underwater World, located at Mooloolaba 30 minutes drive from Noosa Keys, provides a journey into the world of underwater adventure. Travel though the 80 metre tunnel of discovery to see huge sharks, rays, moray eels, brilliant coral and tropical fish. Watch the seals performing in the Sea Cove Stadium.

- When all activities are completed, come play a game of tennis on our court. Racquets and balls available for hire from the office.
