Possums

Ringtail Possums build their nests in trees. This little fellow's nest was blown out of the large tree near the BBQ area during a storm and was rescued by guests.

Birds

Brush Turkeys are common in Noosa, particularly in the National Park near the river mouth. In the breeding season they build large nests in a mound stripping the surrounding gardens of bark, mulch and loose soil in the process. At this time of the year they become the Resort Manager's enemy.

This little Magpie, pictured outside the office, has captured an insect for its dinner.

This charming, unidentified bird landed on the hanging basket on our balcony and sat among its leaves.

Frogs

This Green Tree Frog was rescued from the swimming pool early one morning. At night these frogs croak loudly from trees and bushes but cannot be found when looking for them

Butterflies

Orchard Swallowtail butterflies are one of the largest you'll commonly see around Noosa. This one is probably a female.

Lizards

Blue Tongue Lizards have a vivid blue tongue and can sometimes be seen moving around the Resort with their tongue darting in and out in search of food. On cold nights they sleep in the Spa Pump Cabinet where it is warm.

This Water Dragon spent some time sitting on the Brush Turkey's nest. His home is probably in the lake across the road.
